A fishing paradise
Gimån is an eighty kilometre-long forest river in south-eastern part of Jämtland and middle Medelpad – in middle Sweden. The streams harbour fine schools of large brown trout and grayling. Pike, perch, ide and whitefish are found in the neighbouring lakes and in the quieter parts of the river.
The season opens May 28 2017! Download the information for Gimån’s current fishing license (PDF file in Swedish).
Surrounded by nature
In Gimån you will find yourself surrounded by unspoiled nature. The silence is broken only by the sound of chirping birds, the rippling water and the swishing of your fishing rod. Enjoy picking berries right where you stand, relax and savour the here and now. Gimån is a true paradise for fly fishers.
After a long day out in nature, it is nice to come home to a made bed and a room where you can warm yourself in front of a fire. Book your accommodation for example at Revsunds Prästgård, a bed & breakfast beautifully situated at Lake Revsund, right inbetween Övre Gimån and Herrevadströmmen.
